Deacons’ Closet

Donations

Donations can be dropped off at the Annex (1603 Walnut St.), Mon & Fri between 11am and 1pm. The Deacons' Closet is currently in need of the following items:

  • Hiking boots (Men's/Women's) (particularly Men's 11-13)
  • Comfortable walking/running shoes (Men's/Women's) (particularly Men's 11-13)
  • Hoodies/sweatshirts/sweatpants (size medium and larger)
  • Lightweight jackets
  • Windbreakers
  • Rain jackets
  • Men's jeans (primarily waist size 36 and under)
  • Women's jeans (all sizes)
  • New underwear (Men's boxers/Women's)
  • Lightweight gloves
  • BlanketsTowels/washcloths
  • Backpacks and daypacks
  • Sleeping bags (particular need)
  • Travel size toiletries (soap, deodorant, toothbrush/paste, floss, shampoo, conditioner, hand cream, razors, shave cream, sunscreen)

Distribution

If you are in need of clothing, the Deacons' Closet is open for distribution at Trinity Lutheran Church (2200 Broadway, Boulder), Thursdays, 9:30-10:30am.

Volunteers

Deacons' Closet always welcomes like minded volunteers into our Ministry. We have a great group of people who do the Lord's work in helping the less fortunate, and we have a lot of fun and fellowship along the way. If you are interested in being a part of this local outreach Ministry, here are our volunteer needs:

  • Receive donations (Mon and/or Fri 11am-1pm)
  • Sort and size donations (Mon, 9am-1pm and/or Friday, 11am-1pm)
  • Serve guests (Thurs 8:30-11am) (includes set-up and takedown efforts)
  • Shopping for bargains (various times)

Lamb’s Ministry

As the hands and feet of Jesus Christ, we seek to meet physical and spiritual needs of the homeless and disadvantaged in the Boulder area. Through shared food, shared faith, and shared fellowship, we encourage all participants to grow closer to Jesus.

  • Lamb's Café: Thursdays, 8:30-9:30am in the Grace Commons Courtyard (September through May).
  • Lamb's Lunch: Saturdays, 11:30am-12:30pm in the parking lot at Grace Commons Courtyard (November through week before Easter).

Community Meals

Fifth Sunday Luncheon

Grace Commons Church provides a meal for those in need on the 5th Sundays of the month, 11:30am-12:30pm, in the Grace Commons parking lot. Contact us to learn more or volunteer.

We hold food drives for Harvest of Hope and Boulder County AIDS Project, September and March respectively. These organizations supply food to those in need in the Boulder community.
