Maui Fire Relief Mission Trip
Mar 23-30 | 8th-12th Grade
In August, a series of wildfires ravaged Hawaii, predominantly on the island of Maui. The winds from Hurricane Dora that passed a few hundred miles south of the islands began fueling the wildfires that devastated everything in their path, including the historic tourist town of Lahaina. At least 111 people lost their lives due to the fires, 2,200 structures were destroyed (86% of them residential) and thousands of people are displaced.
Grace Commons Students has partnered with Praying Pelican Missions (PPM) to send a team to be the hands and feet of Jesus during the week of BVSD’s Spring Break. PPM has partners on the islands that are prayerfully considering how they can respond to the evolving recovery efforts on Maui and Hawaii.
Please pray alongside us for our brothers and sisters recovering from this tragic, and unfortunately familiar, natural disaster.
