Oct 15 | Miner's Alley Playhouse

Join ROOTS on the Road for fun day adventures throughout the Boulder/Denver area. This month, we're headed to Miner's Alley Playhouse in Golden to see the classic play, The Cherry Orchard.

The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov’s last full-length play, is a new translation by Master Dramatist, Tom Stoppard. An impoverished landowning family cannot face the fact that their estate is about to be auctioned off. Lopakhin, a local merchant, presents numerous options to save it, including cutting down the prized cherry orchard. But the family is stricken with denial. The Cherry Orchard charts the precipitous descent of a wealthy family and in the process creates a bold meditation on social change and materialism.

We will be attending the 2pm matinee. We will gather for dinner afterwards at a local restaurant in Golden, TBD.

Transportation: The church van leaves from the parking lot between Panera Bread and Meta Burger at the 29th St Mall. Join Sandi Woodward, organizer, with Rich Bueller, driver, departing at 1pm. You may also drive separately.

Cost: $50 (plus the cost of dinner) to ride in the van. $45 to drive on your own.

RSVP: Registration and payment deadline is Sat, Oct 7 at 9pm
