The ministry of Congregational Care is rooted in this interdependent, mutual affection we have for one another in Christ. Our inter-connectedness moves us—all of us—to give and receive care.
Whether it's a deacon visiting her visitee, a Stephen Minister caring for a care receiver, a hospital visitor checking in on a congregant recovering from surgery, we strive to be there for one another. Ours is a multi-layered ministry whose success is measured by expanding care given by increasing numbers of people—formally and informally.
The Grace Commons Church Stephen Ministry equips and empowers lay caregivers—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, confidential, Christ-centered care to people who are hurting.
If you need blessing and reassurance – if you struggle with a physical ailment, large or small – if you are burdened with an ongoing sin or situation in your mind or heart – if you can’t forgive yourself or someone else and the memory still stings – please come and receive, through prayer, the freedom that Jesus wants for you.
The purpose of a First Pres Deacon is to minister to those who are in need, the sick, the friendless and to any who may be in distress.
