ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kathy was raised in a family that followed Jesus and had a deep appreciation for creativity. This spiritual foundation led her to study art and French before getting married and embarking on a beautiful adventure that has involved living in Belgium, California, Washington DC, Oregon, Missouri, and now Colorado.

While raising their three children, she was an art docent for the Union School District in San Jose, CA, and taught privately for 10 years. During this time she maintained a studio practice, did live painting in churches, and started small groups for artists. In addition to her current studio practice, she provides art history presentations for churches, Christian academic institutions, and has offered art as an enrichment opportunity for employees of PayPal.

Kathy’s paintings are in private collections across the US, and she has permanent installations at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, and at Highpoint Church in Aurora, CO. She has designed and facilitated group art projects for churches in California, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Kathy believes that art is essential to the well-being of people; the creation of art shows the wonder of what it means to be made in God’s image. Each of her paintings affirms that beauty is indeed a form of compassion, and the colors express the depths of our souls. Her goal is to paint in such a way that the viewer takes time to consider how the Lord is working in their lives, stirring their hearts and minds with His grace and holy light.
