What makes Doorways Special?
Doorways started in 1981 with the vision to provide a friendly and safe place for women to practice their English, build a community and learn more about living in Boulder. We offer small class sizes with trained English instructors who live in the area. Throughout the year we offer a variety of events and activities to help students practice their English and learn more about living in the USA.
We meet Monday and Wednesday mornings throughout the school year. Our daily class schedule is set up with an emphasis on conversation and relationship building:
- 9:30–10:10am: Tea time and conversation
- 10:15am–11:30am: Classes
Throughout the year we also offer special events and activities to help students connect and practice their English.
Events we offer include:
- Special dinners, potlucks and parties
- Field trips to local places and points of interest (free for students and their families)
- Opportunities to visit homes and practice English with Americans
- Optional Bible study and connection to events at Grace Commons Church

Fall 2026 Semester
- April 29: Online Registration Opens
- September 9–December 16: In-person classes
Spring 2027 Semester
- January 20–April 28: In-person Classes
Tuition & Fees*
- $90 per semester (includes books, materials and tea time refreshments)
- Discount price of $150 offered if students pay $150 for the entire year
- Childcare is offered at $200 per child, $350 for two children per semester
